It’s here so you may as well embrace it.
The Teddy Coat trend is in full swing. And like a lot of trends, it seems to be something that either came from or was made popular by – the youngsters. This can be off-putting.
However, don’t be discouraged because this is one that doesn’t have to stay with the kiddos.
It’s all about finding the right fit and color.
When it comes to color, I usually swear by keeping it neutral and solid. Teddy Coats are trendy pieces and by keeping it neutral you will find that you get more wear out of it while the trend is alive and active.
The next thing to keep in mind is the fit or the cut. I have seen Teddy Coats in trench coat styles, bomber jacket styles and every other type of outwear shape you can think of. This is a mistake waiting to happen. Don’t get caught up.
One of the worst things you can do is to purchase a trendy piece that makes you look like the older lady who is still trying to hold on … and failing miserably.
Stick to a cut that hits you between the upper buttocks and upper thigh area. Too long and you look like you’re walking into your rich dead husband’s funeral. Too short and you look like you’re, well see the paragraph above about trying too hard.
The one I picked up is from Zara and it’s in a nice light tan/beige color. It does have a hood, which I can get away with because everything else about it is plain and simple. My Teddy Coat hits at just below my booty. The fit is not too tight, and it can be buttoned up or worn open in the front. Banana Republic has some nice colors and cuts as does River Island and H&M.
