There is nothing like a season change to get you in the redecorating mood. Who knows what it is about fall— maybe the changing colors and the falling leaves but for some reason, it feels like the right time to spruce up your place a bit. Of course, you could go the traditional route, with pumpkins and leaves and all that but there are ways to give your home that cozy fall look, without looking quite so… “Pumpkin Spice”.
Here are three easy, quick fixes:
“Hey there, pumpkin pie”, “Hello, Fall”, “Welcome Autumn”— there are tons of different fall-esque quotes and sayings that you could decorate your home with. Or, you could choose a more neutral phrase that come in white, silver or gold with a bit of sparkle.
You could source a cute welcome mat to put at your doorstep in white or gray, or a really easy and chic way to glam up your home is to print whatever you want to say in a really nice design and just put it in a nice decorative frame. Signs like these will also be available at your fave home décor store as well if you aren’t the crafty type.
2. Grapes and decorative pine cones
Instead of orange pumpkins and leaves, go for grapes and/or decorative pine cones. These are still super fall inspired, but they are not as “I decorated for fall!” as more traditional décor can tend to be. Places like Z Gallerie, Kirklands and even Home Goods have more glam decorative seasonal items, especially in the weeks leading up to and the early weeks of fall.
3. Gold Accents
Wood is to fall, like flowers are to spring. Wood accents can really create a farmhouse kind of fall feel in your home, especially if you already have other rustic interior design elements in your home. To glam it up and make things a bit more bougie, go for gold accents. Use gold in the same way you would otherwise use wood accents. If done right, this will give a subtle feel of glamour without completely ditching the reason for the season. Some options for your pops of gold could include place mats, tablescape décor pieces, flatware, vases, candles, etc.!
