I live in Florida so fall is almost a joke for us. However, the cool weather will sneak up on you if you’re not paying attention.
Aside from not being woke about the weather, I’ve been dealing with some self realization. I have had to admit that I allowed my wardrobe to go down the toilet in the recent past. There was a time when I regularly rotated what was in my closet, I cleared out and donated old clothes that no longer suited me and I kept a solid balance of trends and staples.
Fast forward to the past 2 to 3 years and I don’t know what kind of hold Satan had on my closet, but it was not pretty. Literally!
This year when the weather finally decided to cool off here, I was stuck. My old faithfuls no longer fit the bill (as I have gotten my ‘style’ life back in order) and I hadn’t made the time to go out and find suitable clothes for fall and winter. Needless to say, I fixed that last problem pronto. The added bonus was that I legitimately shopped for items that I really needed. Not using that as a justification to splurge feels even better than just ‘regular’ shopping.
Awesome finds made their way home with me and into my regular rotation.
Let me break them down by store for you:
- Tarjay – Target is bae and that’s it. I went there first. Coordinated sets dominated and I fell in love with their latest line by Prologue. Both sets are great for layering as well as pairing with boots and outerwear.
- Next up is H&M. Scandals aside, I do peek in there from time to time and this time I’m glad I did. The corduroy pants I snagged have and AMAZING fit. They are also long and just a tad wide legged so boots will be an easy go to when it comes to styling them. Oh yeah, the color is fire too!
- Michael Kors is a no brainer when stylish and affordable are both on the shopping To-Do list. The fall boots they offer are well made and super on trend. If you want a staple boot, you can always also find that at your nearest Michael Kors boutique.
You can watch my video Affordable Fall Outfits to see how I styled the pieces. Let me know where you get your affordable fall fashions.
